Using the Keyboard for Quick Internet Surfing

--Are you tired of using the mouse to double-click the Internet Explorer's icon and point-click it to the Address Bar to type the URL you want?


Here are some quick keyboard techniques that will save minimal time, but if totaled, could give you great time savings!

Before the main steps, be sure you have:

>Internet Explorer in the Start Menu
>A shortcut in your Desktop; and
>An Internet Explorer icon & Show Desktop icon in your Quick Launch Desktop Toolbar

Ways to quickly open Internet Explorer:

1. On your Desktop, Press [Alt]-[I]-[Enter]. If there are some
    files/application that has a name beginning with a letter "I",
    press [I] again until it highlights the Internet Explorer icon.

2. On the Start Menu, Press [Start Button]-[I]-[Enter]. The
    [Start Buttont] is the key between [Ctrl] and [Alt] button.

3. Using a one-click mouse action (even when your currently in an
    active window), just click on the Internet Explorer icon.

4. Using Run, Press [Start Button]-[R] and type: "iexplore" and
    press [Enter].

5. To directly open Internet Explorer with the Website you want
    using Run, type: "iexplore (Website's URL of your choice)"

Ex. "iexplore www.friendser.com/nivlacute" - opens my Friendster profile.

    Some actions like -k (kiosk mode/full screen) & -e (opens
    windows explorer on the left pane of Internet Explorer).

Ex. "iexplore www.yahoo.com -k" - opens Yahoo! in FULL SCREEN!
While on the Internet Explorer Window:

--Are you tired of hovering your mouse going to the Internet Explorer's Address bar?


Here is a tip in using keyboard to go to the Address Bar fast and typing the URL quickly!

Press [Alt]-[D] and type the Websites URL and press [Alt]-[Enter] which automatically wraps the URLs domain name with "www." at the beginning and ".com" at the end and press [Enter].
